The Distribution Center Mechanic/Maintenance Technician provides support to the Lebanon Distribution Center in the areas of preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on material handling equipment, facility and grounds and miscellaneous warehousing and distribution center equipment. Utilizes basic and specialized knowledge to complete electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing repairs

This is a full-time position. Work schedule is Monday-Friday from 7:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.

As a Lifeway Distribution Center Mechanic/Maintenance Technician you will...

• Repair material handling equipment (e.g. sit down forklift, cherry picker, turret, and electronic/manual pallet jacks), fixtures, system, conveyors and other miscellaneous warehouse and distribution equipment as required.  
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on distribution center material handling equipment, fixtures, mechanical systems, conveyors and other miscellaneous warehouse and distribution equipment. 
• Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical/pneumatic systems using schematics and technical drawings. 
• Install material handling equipment, fixtures, system, conveyors and other miscellaneous warehouse and distribution equipment as required. 
• Complete basic facility assessments. 
• Complete required daily paperwork, document parts and material usage. 
• Other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• Associates degree from a technical or trade school with specialization in facility & equipment maintenance or industrial technology, preferred.
• A combination of education and work experience may fulfill the education requirement.

Years of Experience Required:

• 3-5 years maintenance technicican experience in a warehouse/distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with the operation and repair of material handling equipment such as conveyors and various types of material handling equipment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

• Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills - Advanced

• Familiar with Microsoft and Google Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, Sheets, Forms, etc) - Basic

• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings - Intermediate 
• Ability to prioritize work tasks – Intermediate 
• Ability to work independently and with other team members to complete repairs timely and safely 

Other Qualifications:

• Ability to perform work while standing and/or walking, up to and including 8 hours or more/day; position requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations; requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching; the ability to regularly lift/carry 50-75lbs. and push /pull up to 150lbs; and the ability to work at elevations of up to 40 feet, if necessary.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English. 
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic and general/preventive maintenance techniques. 
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
